Vision

At first we created models to describe how we could organise IT. Next we agreed on definitions and metrics. Now ISO 20000 has come and enables us to formalize quality management in IT organisations. We can audit and benchmark. So now we introduce a benchmarking database environment for measuring our real results.

This project is a key step in the development of our members? IT Maturity and will bring us quantified and objective best practices. Vendor members can now use the same basis for consulting while non-vendors are less dependant from a specific consultancy if it concerns assessments and benchmarking. Benchmarks will be assisted by external consultants for validation of the content as we do not want the database to be filled with mistakes or window dressing data.

The ITSMF-Benchmark is the international standard for IT performance metrics. These metrics are selected by at least 15 different Dutch consultancies. If users (both vendors and non-vendors) want to expand or change the current metrics, a request can be mailed to the future Change Advisory Board.

Members will be able to create and maintain their own on-line dashboards. In the beginning the questionnaires and results will be based on Excel while reports will be created in PDF, but soon an intranet environment will become operational for both the questions, their answers and the results.

Results from the 2010 database

ITSMF-Benchmarking showed detailed information from the 2010 database on the stand at the 2010 ITSMF NL Annual conference. The data is based on 90 assessments on Incident Management where we only use about 40 because of data quality.
